Hi, I’m Tony Santos, I’m a writer and internet consultant. I also manage several successful blogs and sites.

I started BizwebResource in 2008 as a part-time consulting and copywriting venture. It evolved into a full-time business by 2012.

I’m a hard-core internet veteran, and have been doing sales and marketing for as long as I can remember. I started my first business when I was just 17 years old (a T-shirt shop in Daytona Beach, Florida). Over the course of my life, I have done every kind of sales gig there is. Whether it was electronics, office equipment or even real estate, sales has always been in my blood.

I started marketing online way back in the early 1990’s. To say I was an “early adopter” of digital marketing is indeed an understatement. In fact, my online marketing efforts even pre-date the web. My travel company was doing it even before the “all-you-can-eat” days, when internet access was metered and painfully slow via modem. Despite the insane limitations in service and the technology of that era, we still managed to successfully market travel services and products on networks like Compuserve, AOL, and Prodigy. What’s more, we did it on a truly global level.

Once the web emerged, I decided get out of the travel agency business, which thanks to the internet was now in rapid decline. I started an internet/online-marketing consultancy. To me, the writing was on the wall, that was where I needed to be.

WorldMarket Services first opened in Gainesville, Florida in 1994. At the risk of sounding cliche’, I ran it out of my 1-bedroom apartment. We then moved the company and ourselves to Los Angeles, California in 1996. Within three short years, WorldMarket grew from a two-person operation to a company with 8 inside employees, and twice that many outside contractors.

Despite our relatively small size, we managed to build a worldwide clientele. We also built our own in-house state-of-the-art data center from scratch in Downtown LA, a feat that was unheard of for such a small company during the “dot-com-boom” period. Within just a few short years, WorldMarket evolved into a rapidly-growing full service managed hosting/web development firm. It was acquired by a larger company in 2001.

After that, I co-managed another hosting company based in Vancouver, until they too acquired my share in 2003.

Fast forward eight years,  after enjoying a “temporary retirement” to cruise around the Western Caribbean aboard my 50′ sloop. I decided that it was time to get back to my roots. Especially since the 2008 global economic crash put a noticeable dent in my nest-egg!

But to be honest, the business never really got out of my blood. Even during my so-called retirement, I still found myself constantly being offered various writing and consulting projects by former clients or colleagues. And sure, I’d take on a project here or there. Especially the ones that looked like fun, and helped keep my boat maintenance paid up! 🙂

Now that the pressure to produce and manage a company was no longer an issue, I came realize that I truly love what I do, so here I am again!

I vowed that I would do things differently this time. I actively look for projects that I find interesting, challenging and will leave a good footprint on the world. I’m also committed to enjoying it more and ensuring that my work fits into my lifestyle, rather than the other way around.

See, I’ve been a “digital nomad” long before it became a thing. I travel extensively, having traveled to and lived in over 60+ countries in just the last decade alone. Other than cruising my own boat for an extended time, it has always been my dream to be a true global citizen. And I wasn’t going to wait until I was “retirement age” to do it. I love the fact that I can work from anywhere, and I make the most out of that capability.

I started BizWebResource because I saw a clear need for specific services, talent and know-how by businesses of all sizes. It’s the kind of stuff that seriously increases the chances of success. Especially when it comes to copywriting.

The fact is for virtually any business operating today, an effective online presence is no longer an option, it’s critical to survival. It means the difference between success and failure. In my experience, the vast majority of companies and websites simply do it wrong, and it costs them dearly. It’s my mission to help some of them do it right.

My aim is clear: to produce quality work and give solid advice to let others benefit from my three-plus decades of experience.I’m also committed to providing real value. To me, increasing any business’ chances for success in this ever-changing online world is a worthy challenge.

See, here’s the thing…

Since making it through both the boom/bust times, and seeing my own dreams come true, I’ve come to a realization. I need to pay it forwrard. And a great way to do that is by helping other business owners and professionals reach their own goals, by helping them realize their own dreams. Lofty? Perhaps. But then again, aren’t dreams supposed to be?
